  1. Vyšší Brod - Branná

    Part 1 of the most popular middle section of the Vltava.

    The first section of the most popular part of the Vltava for canoeing or rafting. In Vyšší Brod you can start a 3-4 day rafting. Sleeping options include a classic boating camp and guesthouses. There are also plenty of restaurants and pubs in Vyšší Brod.

    Going down the river

    The advantage of this section is good navigability, because it starts just below the Lipno II reservoir. The minimum required water level for rafting is 60 cm. You can find out the current water level on the of the Vltava River Basin website.

    There are many refreshments waiting for you on the section and the following stops:

    • 900 m: Weir at Bílý mlýn - impassable due to reconstruction in the spring of 2019
    • 3.7 km: Herbertov campsite
    • 3.9 km: Weir Herbertov - passable through the water chute, but dangerous; the campsite is before the weir
    • 6,2 km: Tří veverek campsite
    • 10 km: Rožmberk - possibility to spend the night, restaurant
    • 10.3 km: Weir Rožmberk - beware, check out the current state of reconstruction, which began in 2018; 2 campsites after the weir
    • 20,6 km: Branná campsite and U Fíka campsite

  2. Branná - Nové Spolí

    Part 2 of the most popular middle section of the Vltava.

    The second section of the most popular part of the Vltava river for canoeing or rafting. You will get to Český Krumlov in 1 day, but if you would like to paddle some more, you can continue to Zlatá Koruna.

    Going down the river

    The minimum required water level for rafting is 60 cm. You can find out about the current water level at Vltava River Basin website.

    There are many refreshment points waiting for you on the section, and these points of reference (mileage measured from Vyšší Brod):

    • 20,6 km: Branná campsite and Fíka campsite
    • 24 km: Vltava campsite
    • 25.6 km: Viking campsite
    • 25.8 km: Na Pískárně car camp
    • 30,1 km: Weir Větřní - Pečkovský Mill
    • 31,9 km: Weir at Papouščí skála
    • 32,2 km: Vltavan campsite
    • 32.8 km: Český Krumlov campsite

  3. Nové Spolí - Zlatá Koruna

    Part 3 of the most popular middle section of the Vltava river.

    You can make the best out of the relatively short section (17 km) with a longer stop in Český Krumlov, where we have prepared other great experiences for you: a scooter ride down the Kleť mountain and Night rafting in the historical center of Český Krumlov and all that with a discount of up to 15%. You can also spend the night in one of the local camps or guesthouses and spice up your boat trip with multi-day experiences of the town and its surroundings.

  4. Zlatá Koruna - Boršov nad Vltavou

    Part 4 of the most popular middle section of the Vltava.

    The fourth and last section of the most popular part of the Vltava river for canoeing or rafting. You will swim mainly through natural scenery, spin the meanders of the Vltava river and when passing by the ruins of the Dívčí kámen castle, we recommend that you stop there and see it.

    The whole middle section of the Vltava river from Vyšší Brod to Boršov is very popular with tourists. The busiest date is the first week in July, which we recommend to avoid.
